Bridge 74A on the Leeds and Liverpool canal at Chorley is a later addition, built to carry the new fangled Railway. It features in the Wikipedia page about Skew Arch Bridges. It is built to Edward Sang’s Logarithmic spirals rather than the more usual (and much simpler) helical ones. This is often called “French” coursing, though I have no idea why, unless the masons were frequently heard to say “scuse my French” when cutting the stones. This is the only one I know of built in stone, though there are two brick ones at Cowley Junction in Exeter built under the hand of William Froude. This model is built from 375 images. All the photography was from the towpath with a 1.5m pole to extend the reach of the camera. As a result, the spandrel facing away from the towpath did not get sufficient cover to produce a viable model.
