Left Side charging handle for Ruger 10-22 (Remix V2)

Edit : After trying it at the firing range, I identified a flaw in the design. The part that is pulling the right side handle is too big and will block the ejection of the shells almost every time.Even though the shell has plenty of room to eject, it hits the part and gets back into the receiver, causing a jam.... You have to fire the weapon to notice that. It won't happen when hand-cocking the gun. Just like it doesn't happen in my video This is a remix (Version 2) of the thing I just published... This version optimizes the locations of the slider's holes so that the part will be as strong as possible. It is also reshaped to work with springs. This part is designed to provide a left side charging handle for the Ruger 10/22 very popular rifle. It allows right handed people to perform tactical reloads with their right hand never leaving the pisto grip with the finger on the trigger in aiming position. I had this idea when I used to own an SKS rifle. It became a must for my Ruger 10/22. I obviously realized I wasn't the first to have this idea and that an aftermarket part already existed. This part is highly inspired by the already existing part out there. The design is in 3 parts to allow assembly of the rods when mounting it on the gun. The aftermarket part was designed with a pivatinny top rail. My design respects the shape of the original Ruger hybrid rail which is compatible with both picatinny parts and 11mm weaver rings. For the rods, I chopped fondue meal forks at 109mm, They are stainless steel with 3mm diameter. Just perfect! (And so cheap at the 1$ shop) This design does not use a spring at all on the slider's rods. I think it works perfectly. See the video : https://youtu.be/1SNpQzhyVos However, if you'd slide the slider to be stiffer, 3mm diameter rods are a perfect fit with cheap ball pen springs you can find everywhere. You can use 2 or 3 of them on the left side....my version 2 is more compatible with springs! The 4 screws of the original Ruger rail are compatible with this design. You will need a standard #5 wood screw to join the 2 main parts. I chopped a 5/8'' long screw to do this. It doesn't reach the receiver. The main flaw of this design is probably the weak dimensions around the holes in the slider. My first printed slider broke across the left side hole. ABS print would probably be stronger than PLA and I would advise to wash the part in acetone to reenforce the print layers. Enjoy all development Solidworks files, assembly file included! Suggested improvements : 1. Reshape left handle grip to fit your own feeling. This one may be too similar to the existing part. 2. Reshape right side slider puller to be more ergonomic for traditional right hande use 3. Modify in only 2 parts : the main part with partial holes allowing rods install from underneath without joining screw. 4. Add spring compatibility on the right side as well. 5. Modify top rail with side wall rails and/or personalized angles/lengths
