<p><strong>3D Benchy attachable to Lego bricks and plates.</strong></p><p>I could not find a good way to store the <a href="https://www.3dbenchy.com/">3DBenchy</a> test models, and then I saw ‘<a href="https://www.printables.com/model/9653-block-compatible-benchy">Block compatible Benchy by dsk3dprinting</a>’.</p><p><strong>Remix?</strong></p><p>I created a completely new model using the .stl file from 3dbenchy.com. Primary reason is that the model from dsk3printing doesn't seem very smooth in Prusa Slicer. (Maybe this is not important?)</p><p>See for example the hull between these two where the model on the left is from dsk3dprinting, and on the right is one of the files from this model.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/306407/rich_content/9288205a-ead3-4831-934c-30435c5840fb/hullcompare.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%2273499417-651b-478b-96f5-c331d55297c9%22%2C%22w%22%3A2346%2C%22h%22%3A1472%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also, there was no way to attach the dragon, or to put Grogu in the middle!</strong></p><p>Here are six .stl files.</p><p>The bottom plates are 4, 5 or 6 studs long and are <i>below the ship</i> now. On top there are either two studs or three. So that makes six combinations.</p><p><strong>Beware</strong></p><p>I have not printed the 4 studs one, since it has quite the overhang of the bow. It may not print at all…</p><p><strong>FreeCAD</strong></p><p>This model was created in FreeCAD. I got the benchy .stl file from 3Dbenchy.com and used a Python script to generate the Lego compatible studs and plates.</p><p><strong>Q&amp;A</strong></p><p>Let me know if you want other sizes for its bottom plate, it's easy to create more of these.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
