This is meant to replace the battery cover on the Lego Mindstorms RCX remote control (part 9738). I ordered one off ebay without realizing it was missing the battery cover, so I designed one fairly quickly in Fusion 360. It's not perfect, but does fit pretty closely and holds the batteries in the remote.
