This is not made by LEGO and is not a LEGO product.

Update 2021-03-08: I actually started using my brain and improved the design to be more of a clamshell, with the front and back snapping together. This is much easier to assemble and helps keep the whole thing nice and flat. I also tried keying the middle pieces to make it easier for them to line up, but it was fussy and I couldn't be bothered.

This is a remix of my LEGO™ Classic Space Logo as a drink coaster. The center portion is uniformly flattened to provide a stable surface for your beer, and the rest of the logo forms a rim. Some chamfers were added to give it a more pleasant feel.

You don't need a multi-material printer or paint to make a nice, full-color version of this coaster! It's designed to be printed in multiple pieces in different colors and then assembled, so that you get a great looking logo without a multi-material printer or paint or anything.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.20 mm

Infill:

15

Filament:
Prusament, eSun, and Amazon Basics PLA, PLA and PETG Viva La Bronze, Fire Engine Red, and White

Notes:

All the STL files are oriented with the business side facing down. This produces a nice, uniform finish and feel and makes the pieces fit together precisely. A textured build plate is strongly recommended for the nicest finish. Everything should snap together, but depending on your printer, you might need to add a little glue to make things snug.
Print the planet portion in your favorite gold filament withArchimedean Chords as the bottom/top infill to get a beautiful swirly sheen. Your usual print settings are fine for the other parts, but if you use shiny filament, experiment with other top/bottom infill patterns for those as well.

It's a good idea to apply some cork or felt to the back of the coaster to provide some additional protection for your furniture. If you are using the coasters for hot drinks, it might be a good idea to use PETG instead of PLA.

Category: Kitchen & Dining
