This is a bevel gear for the gearbox of the LEGO DUPLO trains 2932 ("Train Starter Set with Motor") and 3772 ("Deluxe Train Set"), but I guess it is probably also identical to 2933 ("Deluxe Train Set with Motor") and 3771 ("Train Starter Set"). Inside the gearbox of the locomotive, there is a bevel gear which is sitting on a rod by interference fit. When this gear breaks, the train will not move anymore or it will make loud noises when moving. With this part pushed onto the rod it works again.
