Included are a selected group of renderings and a CAD (STEP) file for FIRST FRC Team 1678 Citrus Circuits's 2018 robot, Lemon Zest, which competed in the 2018 game FIRST PowerUp. Lemon Zest features a West Coast Drivetrain supporting a continuously-rigged elevator and cube intake system, along with a climbing system composed of a detachable hook, robust ramp to support another robot, and winch system connecting the two previous systems. The robot features all custom gearboxes, a unique use of custom 3-D printed parts, an assortment of sensors, and a mostly State Space-controlled series of control loops. Our team won the Utah, Sacramento, and Central Valley Regionals, and became Newton Sub-Division Champions along with Teams 1619, 4061, and 1723, making our team third in the world for the 2018 season. FIRST is an international organization founded on the values of hands-on, mentor-based learning in the field of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). In FRC, the FIRST-based program for students in grades 9-12, teams develop and compete with robots designed around an annually-released game from FIRST Headquarters.
