The following are instructions on 3D printing the, what I call, DC4 (Dream Cloud - Version 4). This is not an easy set of models to print. Any deviation from these instructions may result in undesired quality or abnormal bed adhesion. Make modifications to any parts as needed. The assembled parts are designed for combining the Lenovo y700 (Legion) 8.8in tablet, Gamesir X2 Pro controller, USB Extenders, ribbon cables and ribbon cable extension. Each part is outlined with print settings I used, but feel free to change print settings for quality, materials etc. I feel the design could be a base for other tablet or phone sizes. Disclaimer: I am not a product design or professional mechanical engineer. I am a Computer Science engineer by trade but have a passion for 3D printing, AutoCAD and video games. This is a hobby, so imperfections in the design may be apparent. Please use these files and modify them as needed. Below are recommendations which I found successful within my own limitations based on the printer I own, the materials I am able to use and the spare time I have available. After 100+ hours of designing, prototyping, printing and testing, these are the best recommendations I concluded with. 3rd-Party Hardware: 1. Lenovo y700 Legion Tablet <https://www.giztop.com/lenovo-legion-y700.html> 2. GameSir X2 Pro-Xbox Mobile Game Controller for Android Type-C <https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B97FR5D5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title> 3. uxcell Flexible Flat Cable, 12 Pins 0.5mm Pitch <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S1C17LQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details> 4. uxcell 0.5mm Pitch 12 Pin to 12 Pin Extension Connector Adapter <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RWSS3L6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details> 5. HIEbee 2-Pack USB C Extender Adapter (You need both, they come in a pack of 2) <https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BPSNZVQ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1> 6. 4-40 machine screws (x18) LINK 7. Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth Earbuds (Optional) <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5X25RKH> --Not required but recommended. A cheap set of bluetooth earpods which have great sound, ultra-low latency for gaming and under $30 # General Print Recommendations: ## Filament Material 1. It is highly recommended to print all parts in PLA or PETG at the highest temperature allowed for each material with the highest fan speed. * A bed of at least 235mm width x 235mm length x 250mm height is recommended. Any printer with a smaller print bed may require splitting of models. ** These were printed on an Ender 3 V2 with a print bed size of 235x235x250. ** Larger print beds are preferred, but I do not have a great printer. * PRINTS NEED TO BE WITHIN A FEW PERCENTAGE of ACTUALLY SIZE in order for exact fit! Printing in ABS or Nylon may result in an improper fit as each of these materials is prone to additional “shrinkage” during the cooling process. 2. Print Speed * Using a standard brass nozzle, use the materials’ standard recommendation 3. Print Temperature * Using a standard brass nozzle, use the materials’ standard recommendation Hardened Steel nozzles will result in in-accurate filament flow out of the extruder. 4. Infill * You can print infill at whatever preference you require. Below are recommendations. * Infill patterns are whatever you see fit. * NOTE: The more infill used, the more weight will be added to the device once assembled. 5. Print Times Per Part * Below are displayed recommended print times using a Cura slicer and 0.2mm layer height. These are estimates based on software I used, your times may vary based on material, printer used, speed, etc. More instructions below. I will post model updates and changes as I finish and tweak this project. https://docs.google.com/document/d/17qwBOglj8Xvgu_aLXIdo7Php1EHnaMyi0WK1VTDAOqY/edit?usp=sharing
