This is a remix of the Prescription adapter for Samsung Odyssey by rcaslis.

I wanted a cheaper alternative than using vr-lens-lab lenses which is almost $80 USD for their prescription lenses. I ended up order from zenni which cost me $32 using frame #550021 (https://www.zennioptical.com/p/metal-alloy-full-rim-frame-with-spring-hinges/5500?skuId=550021). While the zenni glass isn't as big as the vr-lens-lab ones, it works just fine.

Something to note is that the alignment of the prescription lenses was set to an IPD of 66 (33R/33L) and you may need to set this in your order to zenni instead of your actual IPD. You should be able to adjust to your actual IPD by using the HMD's IPD adjustment knob as the prescription lens focus should correspond with the Fresnel lens sweet spot. Unfortunately I have no way to test this out but in theory it seems logical. If someone wants to test this theory out please let me know so I can update this description. My make is clear and I have no double or blurred vision with the adapters I am currently using.

This adapter will fit both the Samsung Odyssey and Samsung Odyssey Plus HMDs.

You will can to tweak the lens spacers to make sure the lenses do not touch, they are separate due to variable thicknesses due to individual's prescription lenses. I want the lenses to be close to each other but not touching. Please note that the spacer may need modification on your end to fit your lenses as the thickness, curvature and type like high index glass will be different from my prescription. I have 2 versions of the spacer, 5.5 and 4.5, you only need one set. The smaller the number the thinner the spacer.

The bottom halves are thicker than rcaslis original version to accommodate for thicker prescription lenses.

Make sure to Mark your lenses before taking them out of the frames, orientation IS important. You need to know right and left along with top and bottom. The prescription lenses are friction fit to the adapters so you can always pop them out and re-orient them if you get this part off.

IMPORTANT!
When gluing the top and bottom halves together WAIT, Seriously wait! til the glue is fully cured before putting the lenses into the adapter OR trying to test fit the piece to your HMD (not even for a second). Otherwise you may PERMANENTLY DAMAGE your lenses due to the glue vapors as they will stain and ruin your otherwise clear glass.

I did some light sanding on the inside of the adapters so that they slide on and off more easily.

Qwerty_Uieo made some really good assembly instructions/tips in the comment section go have a look!

UPDATE:
As per request from JohsonChou I've added SMALLER lens size adapters for 41mm lenses from zenni frame #450021.

The original Left Top.stl and Right Top.stl files are for frame #550021 which are 43mm lenses.

3/11/19 Update:
Added new version 3 (v3) 43mm tops that should be easier to use based on kamegami's suggestions.
Also added a solid lens top version for people that want to just have covers for their lenses for transport or sun protection when not in use.

7/16/19 Update:
Qwerty_Uieo made an excellent assembly instruction guide in the comment section wanted to mention that in the main description.

Print instructions

Category: Other Summary

This is a remix of the Prescription adapter for Samsung Odyssey by rcaslis.

I wanted a cheaper alternative than using vr-lens-lab lenses which is almost $80 USD for their prescription lenses.
