UPDATE: there is now an two part version for flexible materials: [www.thingiverse.com/thing:2951107](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2951107) This lens hood is designed for an tight fit in mechanical and optical aspects. It is much smaller than the stock ones. It is initially designed for the Minolta - AF 17-35 F2.8-4 D. It fits this lens perfectly in optical aspects. Since the design of the bayonet is common between the older Tamron designed super wides it will also fit several other lenses witch are also available with different mounts: - Tamron - SP AF 11-18 F4.5-5.6 Di II LD Aspherical IF - Minolta - AF DT 11-18 F4.5-5.6 D - Sony - AF DT 11-18 F4.5-5.6 D - Tamron - SP AF 17-35 F2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical IF - Minolta - AF 17-35 F2.8-4 D - Tamron - SP AF 10-24 F3.5-4.5 Di-II LD Aspherical IF (pretty much useless since the nodal point is located much more to the front of the lens) At the last one you will get shading at the borders of the frame. It should work with Canon, since the Canon apsc sensor is noticeable smaller then the ones of other competitors. I hate most stock lens hoods, because they are way too bulky, the shape is rarely matched with the actual field of view and the fit often is so hard that they enforce the risk of damaging the internal mechanisms of the lens. It has marks for alignment in working position. In reverse position an twist of about 45° will secure it.
