Letter Chess Pieces

Kaimuki Middle School Advising Instructor: Samantha KumagaiI thought of making this when I was playing chess with my sister. Because she was taught how to play at school, she was a better player than me. The first reason why I thought of making this was because I didn’t know what these pieces were called so I thought it was cool to have the names on the pieces. Another reason is because it’s different than the ones you normally see and I thought it’d be unique. During the designing, I had problems with the base. Some letters didn’t have flat base surfaces to stand upright on. I fixed the problem by adding some support underneath letters. I also had a hard time designing the crowns for the king and queen pieces. These pieces are planned to be made in wood or plastic and planned to be about $15.
