Lexmark (Dell) Laser Printer Media Present Sensor Flag

Lexmark (Dell) Laser Printer Media Present Sensor Flag

thingiverse

This is a replacement for the media present sensor flag in various Lexmark and Dell laser printers. You'll know when this part breaks when you start receiving error messages with error codes 241.22 or 241.24, ghost paper jams, or "insert paper in tray 1" even though the bin is more than full. The only way to feed it paper at this point is through its manual feeder. Read [Lexmark's support page](http://support.lexmark.com/index?id=TE549&page=content&locale=en&userlocale=EN_US) about this issue. Chances are this sensor flag will break a few months after your 1 year warranty is up, and purchasing a new one will cost you anywhere from 10 to 60$ given its availability online. Worse, this particular piece fails like clockwork even when replaced with a new one from the manufacturer. The issue is the original part is structurally weak hence why it breaks so easily. My design is thicker and will most likely last longer than the stock part. If it doesn't, at least you can easily and cheaply print a replacement on demand. I have successfully used this replacement in four (4) Dell B3460dn laser printers (rebranded Lexmark MS610dn). I printed with PLA but recommend PETG instead as the latter will be stronger.
