Life Size Thor's Hammer (Mjölnir) - fixed handle

prusaprinters

This is a remix of ChaosCoreTech's life size Mjölnir (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1311108).

Actually, it's more a make than a remix - I only treat it as a remix because I had to fix two parts of the handle (they were non-manifold, Slic3r didn't like them at all). No actual details were changed, and all other parts of the model are completely unchanged. All parts are included here for convenience.

Print instructions

Licence: Creative Commons - Attribution Category: Props Print Settings

Printer: Prusa i3

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: 0.2 mm

Infill: 3 to 20%

Notes:

The head ("body") was printed with 3% (yes, three percent) rectilinear infill, while the handle was printed with 20% infill, honeycomb pattern. Both were printed with 5 top/bottom solid layers and three perimeters. Atomic "Metallic Silver" PLA, 210°C, 60 mm/sec max speed.

Total print time, about 50 hours, and around 220 meters of filament.

I used the "solid" head half.

The model shown here is printed at full-size, and is displayed on the printer that made it.

Other than removing the supports, adding color to the handle (expertly applied with a brown Sharpie :-) ), and some minor scraping and sanding to make everything fit perfectly, no post-processing was done.
