I bought an LED light to replace one that burned out in my entertainment center. It was much brighter than the two others so instead of returning it I made a deflector to shine the light on the wall instead. The diameter of the light housing was 80.6mm so I made this 82mm and it is still a tight fit. I glued the two pieces together with PVC cement before placing the completed deflector into the vapor chamber. To get a nice shiny finish I put it in a cold vapor bath for 2 hours. I made the vapor bath chamber from a 1 new gallon paint can by drilling holes in the lid recess where I can pour the Acetone and it will drip onto sheets of paper towels to soak up the liquid. In a room temperature environment, it takes 2 hours to produce a finished look. I also used a cheap mirror from the dollar store and cut away the plastic so it would fit inside the chamber. I attached copper wire to mirror so it can be lifted out of the can without touching the object being processed. I place a bit of wax paper on the mirror before putting the object on it so that the plastic does not stick to the mirror. Be sure to leave the object alone for a few hours after taking it out of the chamber. It will continue to smooth even further over the next few hours and may take a day or more for all of the Acetone to evaporate from the object before becoming completely solid.
