I needed a fast way to get a sample of filament to a coworker at work right away. The existing spools just weren't quite up to the task, so I came up with another solution. Running more calculations will give me a better idea, but even the final adjustment - adding holes to both sides - reduced filament usage by an extra 20%. For now, the hexagonal curved floor is a bit too thin. Initially, I had planned to glue the pieces together, but my new goal is a simple snap-fit design instead.
