The manual indicates to engage the foot pedal in a manner that results in forward movement. Proceed by inserting your left foot into the hole located at the bottom of the system. Move it down slowly, keeping the toes pointing downward until you reach the bottom. The pedal will remain at its lowest position with a clear plastic "up" position marked by an arrow, and a red clip which has come out of the slot to secure it in place. This action ensures proper drainage is enabled allowing the vacuum system to draw in sewage or greywater when in operation.
