Light Up Ornament/Night Light

Light Up Ornament/Night Light

thingiverse

This is a fun project that combines the laser cutter, 3D printer and basic electronics (not to mention the fun optical properties of acrylic). You can use the provided files to make your own round ornament or attach the rectangular end of the vector file to your own design and have fun! This was initially designed as a thank you gift for people who buy from Imagination Supply Co (http://imaginationsupply.co) over the holidays (see light bulb picture) but it is too much fun not to share. Instructions This is sized for 5mm Acrylic Using the vector file template, cut the outline of the ornament (or just use the end piece and design your own outer design). Inside the ornament, vector cut a second design without cutting all the way through (In my case, I have an Epilog Zing 50W and to cut through 5mm Acrylic I cut at 25% Speed, 100% Power... for the inner cut I set it at 70% Speed and 35% Power) The design that is not cut through will optically reflect the LED light and glow. The STL file gives you a simple bracket that snaps over the LED and 2032 Battery and has a hole for hanging or can be used to stand it up as a night light.
