Lighted Snowman Ornament

Lighted Snowman Ornament

cults3d

This is a snowman ornament designed such that his hat will grip onto the base of a standard christmas tree light socket* lighting up the snowman using the refraction of all the layers. This snowman is printed from polypropylene in vase mode (spiralize mode in cura). PP is used because of its clear properties and high flexibility. I tried to keep overhangs to 45 degrees maximum however the brim of the hat (which is the most problematic) is at only 30 degrees to the printer bed requiring good settings to get layer adhesion and warping to not be an issue. The end result is that these snowmen can be printed in in 45 minutes each for .34 USD each (using Ultimaker PP). See print settings below if you want some tips on how to make this thing print (and stick to the bed), noting that your mileage may vary with a different printer. I painted the hat and buttons with a paint marker. I would love to hear about what other materials people use and how successful they are. *use at your own risk, I used this on a cool led bulb, I am not responsible if you burn your house down by mounting this to something that cooks
