Lightsaber Candle Holder

Lightsaber Candle Holder

I thought I saw a birthday candle lightsaber online, but I was wrong, so I decided to print one! Turned out well for my wife's Star Wars themed birthday party. (Amazing how much The Force Awakens party stuff Disney licenses already). This design is intended to fit common birthday candles (at least in the US). Most of my candles fit well, shaving a hair of the wax off as I put them in. A couple fit a little looser. PLA may be looser. It's a little taller than most candle holders, but it worked well and we all loved them! WARNING: I have no clue if your printing material is food safe!!!! Consider your materials and you're using them. Think about discarding the part of the cake where the candle holder is. I would recommend NOT licking the candle holders. Check out my Lego Artoo! Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm (Standard) Infill: 0% Notes: Just printed them upside down, no rafts or supports. I used gray and they look nice without painting, some other colors would work as well. TIP: Print one and make sure your candle(s) fit before printing a dozen! Check out my Lego Artoo! Post-Printing Cleaning up and optional painting Printing without supports worked well, but the button hangs out a bit from the edge so it drooped a little. I just filed that off. You can paint them if you want (again, WARNING: Check out whether you're using food-safe paint/materials). I was happy with the gray and didn't bother. If you can find solid Star Wars color candles, that'd be cool Also a little longer than normal would have better proportions, though ours seemed to work OK. Oh, and most plastic filament burns, don't let the candles get down that far! Birthday Candles in Lightsaber Holders Example Paint Scheme (from 70% Lightsaber remixed source) How I Designed This FWIW: Designing I remixed this from my 70% lightsaber - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:724456 - Check that out for examples of painting. Mostly I just shrunk the model and added a point under the tip. The hollow for the candle means that the narrow bits under the emitter need to be fatter, but it still is recognizable as a light saber.
