I need short lightsaber hilt for my kids. It seems that the 3-year old and 5-year old like to play with shorter and lightweight chassis. They keep playing the cheap saber made from plastic due to its featherweight. So I am planning to build hilt, will be 3D printed made from resin, not metal. So looking at Thingiverser, I came accross this design : Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Lightsaber (Episode III) (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1839833), and this design : Collapsing Lightsaber (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3604015). I combine the two, to create that suits my need. Things to note : There are 10 parts. Total length from emiter to pomel is 23cm. Inside diameter is 26mm. It is intended to be used with typical PVC type with size 3/4inch which has 22.4 inside diameter (type D or C in my local shop) to be used with 7/8inch blade which has 22.2 mm outside diameter. Once printed, I planned to just slide down the parts to the PVC, and permanently glued them. Several parts also make the painting process a lot easier. EDIT : i hav printed it, and works like a charm. However, there are some small differences due to switch placement, length etc.
