Lightshow for your Turntable

If music is not enough for you, you could simply add a lightshow. While trying to decorate and personalize my turntable I came up with this idea. Take a look at the video and see a stroboeffect, beatsync flashing lights and even colored sequences for your turntable. Take a look at the video to see how it works. http://youtu.be/zpftUBy3FbQ Instructions Everything is written in OpenSCAD and documented. (In total more than 1000 lines of code) Just download the code and modify. (Bring some time, rendering can take very long.) All parts are printable without support material in an area by 10x10cm. To construct your own lighteffectswheel, you have the choice between several components. groundplaneWithAxis: As the name says, this is necessary to print. chaserone: A wheel with one gap, which generates flashing lights. chaserstrobo: A wheel with three gaps, which generates a strobo effect. chasercolored: A wheel with no holes, but thin walls. This should be printed in white. Insert a paperstripe as you can see in the video to generate coloreffects. cap1: the cap to close the wheel. This one has extra holes for a connector. cap2: the cap to close the wheel. This one has no holes for connectors, but a chamfer for the hole in the middle. Use this one if you have to much friction with cap1. connectros: may not necessary. Use the connectors, if your cap doesn´t stay in place. crossedwheels: use them to adjust the height and put one on top to stabelize the chaserwheel. They are 2/3/4/5/10 mm high. planetary_assembled: take a look at it ;) planetary_printable: parts for the planetary wheel with the ghosts. Getting Started: 1) Build your own Stroboeffect: print groundplaneWithAxis, chaserstrobo, cap1, crosses. push the cap into chaserstrobo, so that the teeth are below. Then follow the steps shown in the video. Use the "crossed-wheels" to adjust the height. 2) Build your own Coloreffect: print groundplaneWithAxis (if not already printed), chasercolored, cap1, crosses (if not already printed) take a piece of paper and cut a paperstripe of ~250x25mm. use highlighters and paint your effect. put the stripe into the wheel. 3) Build a wheel with rotating ghosts: print groundplaneWithAxis (if not already printed), chaser*, cap2 (may not necessary), crosses (if not already printed), planetary_printable (in high quality) glue the planetary wheel on top of the chaser.
