Lightweight Dual to Single Extruder Conversion with Active Cooler for CTC / Flashforge
thingiverse
This solution converts a dual to single extruder setup, securing cables and integrating a fan and air duct for object cooling. It's best to print at least the top part and nozzle in ABS plastic. Otherwise, the top part may warp due to motor heat, which isn't a major issue, but the nozzle might also warp because it's close to the heated bed. You'll need four 3mm screws, each 15mm long, to mount the standard or alternative 40mm fan. Self-tapping PT screws or Nylon screws can be used for weight reduction (M3 tapping required). The two M3x40mm screws are original parts. The nozzle fits snugly into the body and doesn't require glue. All parts are printed upside down. The top part and nozzle have 2 shells, with 100% infill. The body has 2 shells with 15-20% infill. Support is only recommended for the nozzle where it sits on an aluminum bar. No support is needed inside the air ducts.
