This is a connector protector to minimize stress on the micro USB connector on the back of the G10 base unit. A friend and I have had our base units damaged due to the connector or cord being hit. To attach double sided tape can be placed on the face or you can place 1/8" thick adhesive foam in the two pockets, this is what it did and it holds very well.
