The linear accelerator is an advancement in particle technology that is being used to cure cancers. The only problem is that it is highly costly, setting at 1 million dollars to produce. With this model, I plan to make this product affordable and easy to produce by breaking it down into separate pieces and 3D printing them using nylon or some other strong, but cheap materials. Using this scale model (1/16th scale) we should be able to get an understanding of how this model can be printed at real size and constructed so that it is easy to transport, and not as costly to produce. This model includes an extendable arm piece, a rotating system for the arm piece, an end piece to the arm, and separate pieces to be put into the tip to help accurately and effectively cure the tumor. This model also has plenty of room to improve to further improve its effectiveness. Creator notes: This model took about 3 weeks to create and is my first model made using AutoCAD. This was a real challenge that i enjoyed making, and i would love to get a chance to make more, highly detailed, designs using this program. And as for the measurements they will be provided here https://docs.google.com/document/d/17OFBzOashENRJRMeyy7QRE1NCkLEwOl4020rD0qOdKk/ Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this challenge, and thanks to my teacher Mr. Dubee at Northeast Highschool TN, for telling me about this challenge.
