Body for a Lionel 68 inspection car, based on an existing VW bus design. Frequently, the body of a Lionel 68 inspection car is missing, or has a cracked roof. The original body appears to be the back of a 1957 Chevy Nomad and the front of a 1958 Chevy Bel Aire. This design for a replacement body moves the body into a mid 1960s VW bus. Still to do: 1. Create a method for accessing the reverser. Either a hole in the roof, similar to the campers or a knob and hole like the original car. 2. Add holes for the headlights/tail lights so the interior lights shine through. Consider replacing the lights with LEDs using the holes created above
