For an easy STL file extraction from any DICOM dataset (CT, MRI, etc.) on Mac, download Osirix Viewer, load your DICOM files, choose 'visu 2D,' select 'surface rendering,' and export as STL. Note that if the dataset has excessive slice thickness or gaps, Osirix may not create a perfect model. Always ensure proper acquisition for accurate 3D rendering.
