* * * * UPDATE - NEW FILES * * * * Since posting these i was messages asking for a couple of more options. So i have now included them as follows:- A new checkered option where the sides are checkered like the peterson picks... If you want to print these flat DO NOT use a raft, you will never get them off, I printed mine upright with no problems. I moved them to a seperate thing file, search for sparrows lockpick handles And the last was a request for a handle that would fit a .5" ( 1/2 inch) wide feeler gauge, in my mind it made it a little too "fat", but I did it and posted it as well, its listed at 13mm wide. * * * * Original Text Below * * * * Ok, I've been wanting to make these for a while, lockpick handles to go on the Sparrows and Southord picks. I played around with the design in my head, I really did want to make the pick longer (I have large hands, normally picks just don't quite sit right in my hands, I literally just hold them between my fingers and the back of the pick never reaches the crook of my thumb) I also wanted to shape them to make them better for me to hold, that and be a little more stylish than the bland designs. I based the profile on a re-curve dagger from video games called Dragonfang, So i guess i could call these dragonfang pick handles lol After trying then printed flat I was having tolerance issues as the inside of the slot was unsupported, they worked... but only after sanding down existing picks and a whole lot of finishing, and I didn't want that. Like usual, I have included the AutoCAD DWG files in case you want to Remix or alter them for your own use etc. and I've included 3 sizes: The sparrows picks are around 7.7mm width so i made the slot 8mm... The normal thickness of the picks are a standard .025" so i made the thickness .035 to allow for printing misalignment/errors or changing the resolutions etc. all these drawings and STL files are at 35 thou, that should fit everything. I made three lots, and the only ones that give a real nice fit are the .035" ones. Just epoxy or glue in the picks and it should fit all three standard sizes .015, .020 and .025. For those who want to sink the shoulders in or want to use them for longer homemade picks Ive included one set at 82mm deep, the standard for most picks leaving the shoulders out is 72mm. Ive also included an 8.2mm width at 72mm Deep for the Southord Picks which in my set exactly 8mm, so they give .2 extra for a nice slide fit. I always print in white for all my trial prints and testing, my multicolored ones for my real set are printing right now :) Anyway, to recap... all are 035 thick, two depths... 72 and 82mm, and one file is 8.2 wide Late Note... I printed them upright as in the picture, it kept the slot tolerances nice and tight, so you will really need a raft for stability if yu try it that way IMHO. If you have problems with stability then they will print flat (laying down) Have Fun and Stay Safe
