A 4-6-0 wheel arrangement represents the configuration of four leading wheels on two axles in a leading bogie, six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles, and no trailing wheels. This wheel arrangement became the second most popular configuration for new steam locomotives in the United States of America (USA) in the mid 19th century. In the USA this type is commonly referred to as a Ten-wheeler.During the second half of the nineteenth and first half of the twentieth centuries the 4-6-0 was constructed in large numbers for passenger and mixed traffic service. A natural extension of the venerable 4-4-0 American, the four-wheel leading bogie gave good stability at speed and allowed a longer boiler to be supported, while the lack of trailing wheels gave a high adhesive weight.Probably the most famous American Ten-wheeler is the Illinois Central Railroad’s no. 382, the locomotive driven by Casey Jones in the wreck that was immortalized in Wallace Saunders’ song.Product Features:- Approx 137001 polygons.- Includes group information, which your software should read as separate parts.- This version includes an mtl file, which your software program should read to colorize the model.- The model is UV mapped and textures (in tga and jpg format) are included.
