so after having upgraded to octoprint, then further more to klipper. obviously using a webcam just goes hand in hand. i originally made a mount for the cam to sit on the front left corner [as looking at the printer] as i felt this was out the way when reaching over the top, gave a good view etc. however after upgrading the hotend to a direct drive extruder. i found this position was not the the most ideal given the increased size of parts around the hotend. so i decided to relocate the cam. now that the cam sits completely central, i found that it simply doesnt require the kind of articulation a ball and socket can achieve and really only needs tilt. i have made a few variations of the same mount. i originally didnt want to constrain myself with how far back or how far forward the cam would sit. so i made the first base to be able to fit either way round so it could sit further forward or further back. for this to work, i made it in 3 pieces, base, cam and an adapter between them. the cam mount uses the exact same method of attachment as the logitec cams original mount, uses the same pin and screw etc. the cam mount bolts to the adapter using a m3x20 cap head bolt and nut. the adapter connects to the mount base using 2 m3x12 cap heads counter boared to keep a flat bottom. the mount base bolts to the chassis using m3 t nuts and m3x8 cap heads[i have always used https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050607 t nuts when bolting to the ender 6 chassis, thank you DaVinci2000] so after fitting, i found what i felt was the best orientation and then decided to union the base mount and adapter as 1 piece. i also couldnt decide on the look i wanted, so made 2 subtly different bases. so rather than just upload what i chose as my finallised mount. i thought maybe best to let you have the choice on whether you want it in 2 piece or 3 piece [incase you decide to fit it elsewhere or on a different printer etc]
