All four spring holders (at each corner of the joystick) don't go through the base, so there's no need to remove any original parts. You can use a peice of tape to ensure they will keep in place (picture no. 6). There are two versions of detents for less (hotas4.stl) or more (hotas5.stl) resistance (picture no. 7).
