Tube to connect the classic LOMO Biolam microscope to modern Sony NEX-style cameras, allowing this microscope to be hooked up to a TV for easier viewing or to be used for photographic or video experiments. The length of this tube is entirely arbitrary. I don't know what I'm doing, but it appears to work fine. The magnification of your objective maybe a little off. If anyone could give me some tips on an ideal length, I'd appreciate the comment! Finally, it will fit on every fifth generation Makerbot including Replicator Mini, as well as Replicator 2/2X. It is also printable on an Up Mini. Your printer will need a vertical build area of 12cm to print this object. Instructions Designed for and tested in black PLA. Includes supports - peel off the outer ring on the bottom part before use. Plyers or a knife maybe helpful. Loosen the thumbscrew attaching Head/Eyepiece Tube on your LOMO, then place the bottom part of this print in to that area, attach and turn on camera, orient camera however you want and tighten thumbscrew enough to hold in place. You may need to change a setting in your camera to allow photos to be taken without a lens, as this passive adaptor does not indicate the presence of a lens to the camera body. On some NEX cameras you may also benefit from changing the HDMI output from Auto to 1080p if you are connecting an external monitor, for higher resolution viewing. Live View tends to be lower resolution, so you might find you get a better image during video recording.
