Lomo Tank Spindle

Lomo Tank Spindle

This is a set of parts that make up the spindle for the [Lomo Processing Tank](https://www.super8camera.com/processing/lomo-tank/). There are two distinct parts, the top and bottom pieces, that screw together to hold together the spiral reels that hold the film during processing. There are 2 versions of the bottom spindle piece. The "ALT" version has a longer threaded extension than the original. The original spindles are made from [bakelite](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakelite) and are easily broken by dropping or over-forcing the threading while screwing the pieces together. The unfortunate soul in this situation is then left to either buy an entire new tank or make their own using parts from the hardware store. The parts are generated using OpenSCAD scripts, with help from the [threads](http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/threads.scad) and [OpenSCAD Triangles](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:220868) libraries. The design is based on measurements of the original pieces, but I took as reference [Replacement spindle for Lomo 100' 8/16/35mm film processing tank](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:722187) and [Modified spindle for Lomo film processing tank](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1300093). I had some difficulty with the prints and wanted to create the top part of the spindle as well. Note: On my printer, the bottom spindle piece prints better when flipped horizontally so that the outer threading is facing the print bed and the body of the spindle part is held by supports.
