Longboard Brake System

Was there ever a need to bail because there was no way to stop? Well a brake system for a longboard will solve that problem. Most longboards nowadays don’t come with a brake system mounted to them. Now most riders don’t need one because they can either use their shoes or use gloves to slow down. A brake system would give the ability to slow the skateboard down with just the press of a foot. There won’t be anymore worn out shoes or gloves, and the brake system can be put on and taken off with ease. Also it will be a benefit for younger riders who haven’t learned those methods of braking yet. It will work by first having the base part of the brake that clamps down on the board itself. The way it will clamp is by just using the screws on the board. Then there will be a lever that’s on a hinge system and it will rotate on an axis just like a scooter brake. This will be 3D printed in 2 different parts and that will allow for fast production. The method of 3D printing that will be used is SlS, or Selective Laser Sintering. The reason for this is because SLS allows for various materials to be used, and in this case metal will be used to make the design.
