Longruner LC26 Raspberry PI Camera Case, and two mounting options for the Creality Ender-3 This thing is a "work-in-progress", if you have any issues with it - please let me know and I can put things right ! The project is a UNIVERSAL Mounting kit for the Creality Ender-3 3D printer. LC26-EU-1 DEPTH (Front to back) - Measured from centre of case to front edge of lens = 26mm HEIGHT - Top to Bottom edge FFC connector = 30mm LENGTH - Approx. 76-80mm including the case It should also work with similar sized cameras (75mm x 25mm x 25mm) such as the Makerhawk - 5MP OV5647 Webcam Video 1080p with IR Cut (3 x sensor layout) You can use the MOUNTING COMPONENTS with a different camera such as the PI Cam if you can find a suitable camera case that will attach to the SWIVEL MOUNT. HARDWARE ========== 1 x Longruner LC26-1-EU model, with the 3 x IR cut sensors 1 x FFC Cable to connect the camera to your Raspberry PI 2 x 0.35 inch x 0.35 inch (8mm x 8 mm) Pi aluminum heat sink (for cameras IR) IN THIS PROJECT =============== 1) For the LC26 Case - there are three parts :- - Print ONE of each component - - Backplate - - Frontplate - - Rear plate attachment 2) Swivel Mount (to attach the Rear plate to the upright mounting post) - Print ONE of these 3) Choice of TWO Cam Mounts (CHOOSE ONE - either WIDE or NARROW) - - select a mount width you prefer and print ONE. 4) Choice of TWO Dovetail Sliding Mounts (CHOOSE ONE) - Y Axis Mount (to attach to Ender 3 Y Axis frame) OR - 40x40 V Slot Profile Mount with M4 Holes / M4 T-Nuts - - (The 40x40 mount can be used on the front left or front right of the printer) 5) Cable Management - 6mm FFC Cable Clips - (Print at least 2 of these to secure the FFC cable to the Swivel Mount Post) ASSEMBLING THE LC26 CASE ========================= Please ensure the FFC Cable enters the Camera at the BOTTOM / UNDERNEATH for better cable management. ATTACH the 2 x 8mm Pi Heat Sinks to the rear of the LC26 IR sensor pads. They get HOT, so using 2 x small heat sinks help to dissipate the heat when the IR sensors are in-use. ADDITIONAL HARDWARE SCREWS / BOLTS / T-NUTS ETC. ================================================ FOR SECURING THE FRONTPLATE, LC26, BACKPLATE, AND REAR MOUNT ATTACHMENT 4 x M3*16mm screw bolts (Nuts are NOT required as the screw bolts finish FLUSH with the backplate) Connect the backplate to the TOP OF THE SWIVEL MOUNT v2 (ADJUST CAMERA UP/DOWN MOTION) 1 x M3*16mm screw bolts 1 x M3*16mm nut TO CONNECT THE CAM MOUNT (WIDE OR NARROW) TO THE NEW SWIVEL MOUNT v2 1 x M4*16mm screw bolt - Secure from underneath through the mount into the base of the arm swivel. An M4 bolt will 'cut' its' own path until tight. IF USING THE Dovetail 40x40 Mount with M4 holes-T Nuts - YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST 2 X M4*10 [ ONE FOR EACH V SLOT RAIL ] - AT LEAST 2 X M4*T-NUTS (YOU CAN SECURE WITH 2 UP TO 4) IF USING THE Y Axis Dovetail Mount - NO SCREWS / BOLTS OR NUTS ARE REQUIRED. NOTE : THE TOLERANCES ON THE DOVETAIL MOUNTS ARE VERY TIGHT. IF YOUR CHOICE OF CAM MOUNT (WIDE OR NARROW) DOES NOT SLIDE / ATTACH EASILY, PLEASE SCALE THE CAM MOUNT MODEL BY AROUND 1% TO ACCOMMODATE DIFFERENCES IN PRINTER ACCURACY - THEY ARE DESIGNED TO BE VERY TIGHT FIT TO PREVENT CAMERA WOBBLE PRINTED ON ========== CREALITY ENDER-3 @ 0.2mm PLA - ELECTRIC PURPLE CURA 4.6.1. SLICER SETTINGS =========================== 20% INFILL 2-3 PERIMETERS DUAL SUPPORT REQUIRED FOR CAM MOUNTS - PRINT ON SIDE USING SUPPORT / & / TREE SUPPORT (SEE THING IMAGES) - SEE THING IMAGES FOR CORRECT PRINT ORIENTATION SUPPORT (TOUCHING BUILDPLATE ONLY) FOR THE DOVETAIL MOUNTS - SEE THING IMAGES FOR CORRECT PRINT ORIENTATION OTHER PARTS- PRINT AS PER THE IMAGES FOR CORRECT ORIENTATION (NO SUPPORTS) Enjoy ! The camera is 7 mm wider so box width was expanded to fit. I INCREASED the depth of the BACKPLATE 9.60mm TO 12mm DEEP to accommodate the screws and bolts which secure the IR sensor PCBs to the Camera PCB. - THIS IS UPLOADED AS A REMIX OF THE BACKPLATE only. The Frontplate, and attachment plate are from the original / unmodified Tinkercad files from angelnu and are included in the Thing Files for completeness.
