An escutoide is a geometric solid situated between two parallel surfaces in such a way that the intersection of the escutoide on each of the two surfaces (and in all intermediate layers as well) are polygons, which would be the "covers" of the escutoide. The vertices of these two polygons are connected by a curve or by a Y-shaped connection. The faces of the escutoides are not necessarily convex; they can have hollows towards the inside or outside, so several escutoides can pack together to fill all space between the two parallel surfaces. This model is inspired by a comic strip by Raquel Gu (@RaquelberryFinn https://twitter.com/RaquelberryFinn) and her loving vision of epidermal cells. And in the original model "Customizable Pair of Packable Scutoids" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3024272) from https://www.thingiverse.com/mathgrrl, to which I added eyes, arms, and smiles. :-) More information can be found at; https://naukas.com/2018/07/31/la-cronica-de-los-escutoides-contada-por-sus-autores
