Low-cost conveyor belt

thingiverse

This conveyor belt was designed for my bachelor thesis in Industrial Engineering at OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences. The goal was to make a low-cost conveyor belt that used only easily obtainable parts. This conveyor belt can transport 300g workpieces by 40cm. The working area can be easily adjusted by lengthening or shortening the length of the side-pieces and the belt. The conveyor belt should cost about $ 68 in total depending on where you get the parts from. The DXF-files are cut out with a laser cutter. As material can be used 3mm thick MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). The drive shaft and deflection pulley are printed out of PLA. You can use superglue to secure the wooden parts. Hot glue was used to fix the bearing. A construction manual with a full parts list can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11uPovjOB9vsEtThuYii4diyg3HSomY_5IITC60sqbRI/edit?usp=sharing
