Low profile Drawer Handle

Low profile Drawer Handle

thingiverse

These are low profile drawer handles, based on some IKEA handles we had for our kitchen drawers about 20 years ago. I thought they'd be ideal for the drawers I'm putting in the garage as they fall flat against the face of the drawers so I'm less likely to knock them or catch myself on them. I've made them from PLA and they seem strong enough for knocking about in the garage. I've used 2 x M3 hex bolts to attach the handle to the base (one each side), the hole goes all the way along the pull handle so use whatever length you like as long as it doesn't extend more than halfway obviously, I just used the longest I had (M3 x 35mm) as they weren't getting used. As long as you don't over tighten the bolts the handle will drop when released, tighter and the handle will stay in the open position until you push it back. I made the holes to attach to the drawer suitable for an 3x12mm wood screw, although a 4mm screw works just as well, I may update the base to take a larger screw if I think I need a 5mm screw, but if I needed that much security I would likely put a bolt through the drawer front and secure it with a nut and washer from inside the drawer.
