Low strain Ikea Lack table filament grommet

Low strain Ikea Lack table filament grommet

If you build a 3D printing enclosure using the ikea lack table or any other surface of about 50mm in thickness, you will need to feed filament using a grommet. I found the ones already available were narrow tubes and provided no strain relief as the printer's tool moves from side to side.

The narrowest part of the hole is 5mm so it will work with filament up to 3mm in diameter.

This design has a double funnel shape that allows for movement of the print tool as well as changes in spool winding diameter. A 3/4 inch hole (19mm) must be drilled for installation.

Print instructions

Category: 3D Printer Accessories Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: I3 MK3S

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.2mm or 0.3mm

Infill: 20%

Filament: generic PETG black
