Bachelor projectThe luffing jib tower crane is a device already on the market, which due to it’s flexibility of movement, when lifting loads, can rotate with less turning radius, compared to some elevation models such as the crane with horizontal shaft only.To check compliance with the requirements of the crane I used F.E.M. 1.001 (Rules for the Design of Hoisting Appliances) , which indicates the capabilities of structures according to the tensions, elastic limits, connections, fatigue, placement forces and transmissions dynamics and aerodynamic (wind).The software SOLIDWORKS was utilize to design 3D and static analysis (beam and truss elements).
