Replacement Lower Left and Right Z mounts for Lulzbot TAZ 6 printers to allow room for Astrosyn dampers to be installed. The original Z-Lowers on the TAZ 6 will not clear the rubber feet after adding dampers & re-assembly, and without a shorter version (like the ones I've uploaded here), the flex couplings are not long enough to connect the Z-screw to the motor shaft. Basically, these are just modified Lulzbot parts that are 6mm shorter, enabling the flex couplings to fit and the motors to clear your tabletop. Why on earth would I do this? The Z-Axis only changes once per layer, right?! Well, the "auto-leveling" feature of the TAZ 6 causes the Z motors to be constantly moving very tiny amounts even when you're on the same layer, unless you've got your printer 100% level in all directions. I was tired of hearing the 'tick tick tick tick' every bloody moment this printer was running, so I wanted to minimize that as much as possible. This helped, but it did not eliminate it entirely. Printed in Village Plastics ABS in Lulzbot Green, which I understand to have been the same exact filament used by Lulzbot at the time my printer was made (I think they've since changed suppliers to Chroma Strand). 80% infill. Replacing these parts on a TAZ 6 requires a decent amount of teardown - make sure you have the tools and expertise to make this change. Do so at your own risk, and please be aware doing so probably voids the warranty. For assembly/disassembly instructions of the Z-Lowers, check out Lulzbots' online OHAI resources. Note: I've tried to adjust these so that the re-assembly instructions, aside from the dampers, are identical to the original instructions - however you may find that you need to adjust the position of the Flex couplings on the Lower Z motors by ~1mm to make it fit. YMMV. Printed on a Taz 6 with a 1.75mm filament (YES - It's true!) using IT Works 3D Titan Aero Pro head (https://itworks3d.com/)
