Lung Exerciser ( Expand-A-Lung clone)

I had been reading recommendations for a resistance training gadget for your lungs called the "Expand-A-Lung" and the reviews seemed very positive. My lungs were damaged by a bad case of flu just before covid, and they haven't fully recovered yet, so I decided to give this gadget a try. But when I looked at it, it seemed really simplistic for a $30 gadget: a snorkel/scuba mouthpiece with a screw valve that controlled how much air could be drawn into the mouthpiece. I had a spare snorkel mouthpiece around so decided to make a proof of concept for the gadget at home before buying one. It seems to work as advertised: screw it down tight for maximum resistance when breathing through it, open it up for minimal resistance. NOTE: You will need to get hold of a silicone mouthpiece for snorkel or scuba gear before you can use this. The snorkel mouthpieces start at $9 for 6 on Amazon, if you want to give these a try yourself, its easy enough to print one of these out try it. If your lungs were damaged by covid or flu/pneumonia, you might also give it a try - that's why I was originally looking into this. Google around for the directions to use the Expand-A-Lung. Note that spit starts to accumulate in the valve if it is pointing downwards, beware of dripping.
