This design came for a VAF post about how to build a internal 36-1 EDIS ring gear. It's designed to give precise timing for an electronic engine management system. In this case, it is also designed to fit neatly inside the Lycoming aircraft flywheel. It should be made from any ferrous material (not aluminum or plastic) most steels should work fine. The 6 attachment wholes are purposely undersized so the CnC'd ring can double as a drill jig for the flywheel if yours isn't drilled/tapped (w/8-32 tap).
