Lync Display Light
thingiverse
This device simply combines a standard RGB-LED with an LCD display that can be controlled via its virtual serial port, connected directly to the USB interface. When paired with Lync-Presence-Bridge software on your desktop, it shows your current status in real-time within Microsoft Lync or Skype for Business. During calls or chats, it displays the identity of the other party involved. This is particularly helpful when the monitor is locked, which is why I created this device. The casing is 3D printed using black PLA plastic for the base and clear PLA plastic for the diffuser component. I've also developed different variations with smaller diffusers or customized diffusers to suit specific needs.
