M-300 Claymore Replica (Mass Effect)

This is a detailed 1:1 scale model of the M-300 Claymore from the Mass effect games. It is roughly 470 mm long or just over 1.5 ft. Modelled from multiple reference pictures in google sketchup. My friend who will be attending a convention this fall requested this item for his costume. A week and a half later this is what we have. Instructions Updated: Lettering on left side was backwards from inversion, fixed. The sketchup model is segmented into many sub components which can fit within an 8 by 8 by 8 inch (200 mm)build envelope (Most are considerably less.) All parts other than the handle are then cut in half so as to print as flat bottomed pieces which can be glued or melted together. Disclaimers: Not entirely accurate to images, minor artistic changes have been make. Ex: Screw heads, sizes, spacing, raised lettering, etc. This is a large project. I estimate it to take almost 2 kgs of plastic on a low infill setting (10-15%) and almost 4 days of printing. I do not have a 3d printer yet, though I plan to print this when my printer arrives in August, thus this has not been tested. I am mildly disappointed in my trigger design. Well it is accurate to the image, it will not be particularly function and I welcome redesigns. Warning: Even if this may just look like a toy, it still bares the semblance of a gun, despite it being a fictional one. Be careful, do not misuse this, and for added safety paint the barrel orange. This identifies it as a fake. I will remove this model should Thingiverse request me to however it is, once again, not a real weapon. Many other replicas are currently uploaded to Thingiverse. REVISION 19th/12/2012: This model was originally taken down however upon further review and a few e-mails a representative from thingiverse agreed that this does not violate the terms of the policy and returned this model to its full statues.
