M3 bolt & nut calibration - estimate printer's XY expansion

thingiverse

Most of the times, the models that one creates or prints have slight differences. The worst case is when you cannot fit the parts of a model together, or you cannot fit a nut into its place. Most of the times, the given nut cannot fit its place in the printed model. The nut is usually slightly larger. Sometimes this can be corrected by taking a bit of extra material off, however there are some situations when this is not really possible. Since M3 bolts and nuts are one of the most common types, I designed a calibration tool to estimate your printer's XY expansion. By using this model you can also estimate how much extra space to add/substract in order to have a tight or loose fit.
