Ever had plenty of nylon M3 standoffs for your quadcopter builds but never the right size for your new frame? Well here is the 1st incarnation of the Standoff Trimmer. Up to 50mm nylon standoffs M3 bolt to align standoff On board measurements for quick cuts Utilizes 8mm carbon rod for axle and standard 39x19 square scraper blades. Check Instructions for printing and use Instructions Print Main frame in a fast to Medium quality Support is recommended but not needed if you have a Good printer, but can use support to have better shaped holes. Print Axe with 50% infill, raft and support.- would suggest experimenting with orientation to achieve best print for blade slot. I found laid on side with support worked fine. For axle use 8mm rod (i had some carbon spare lying around) you may need to glue this in place once assembled. With AXE - clean out any support from blade slot and slide in blade (watch out they are sharp) file out axle hole so that it is snug on axle but moves smoothly. blade should be parallel with bench when down. Screw M3 bolt in side hole - not to long - approx 5 mm protruding out. This is used to screw the standoff onto so it wont move. Slide AXE to the desired length and place onto the standoff, with a firm hit from a heavy object like small hammer. it should part the standoff at the desired length. Unscrew the adjusted standoff. this is an unfinished project - it may require some tweeks It some times cut on a slight angle - but easily fixed with a bit of a file.
