M3D External Stepper Motor

M3D External Stepper Motor

thingiverse

This allows M3D users to take the Stock Stepper Motor and move it to an external Mounted position with an adjustable pressue lever for filament feeding through a bowden tube. There are flaws in the M3D design that resulted in many of us coming out with MODs like this one. I originally created an external setup with a Nema17 Stepper but that requires custom M33 Firmware and modification of steps to get tuned in etc. This allows users to keep using original M3D software or 3rd party alike without changing back and forth. This design came from one of my members in the M3D Google+ community (Andrea Munegato) and I added in a Mount to go with the project labled the Ulti-Mount in the files. These can ALL be printed without support. There are 2 versions of the Ulti-Mount one vertically printed and the other Horizontally. The "Lever" can be rotated to a Vertical position allowing non support as well as the "Motor Case" (Large Opening Horizontally). Only supplies needed will be some screws etc to hold together. I used random ones. Also a Spring for the tension and Bowden Tube (with tube connectors). Print Settings Printer: M3D Micro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Medium /.20-.25 layers Infill: 15%-20% Notes: Settings are mostly optional. This is what I went with to scale my print time.
