Probably the easiest way to make a filament holder for small M3D rolls on your M3D printer. The internal filament gets trapped sometimes in my M3D so I chose for an external solution. It only requires one printed part (which can be printed on an M3D) and a paint roller set which you can get at any hardware store. The printed part is designed for paint rollers with a 6mm round metal roller bracket. There is a filament holder for 1Kg rolls available as well: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1157949 Instructions: Print the .stl file Remove the plastic handle from the paint roller. I used a hacksaw to cut it in halves. Wait for the printer.... Wait for the printer.... Remove the part from the printed and remove the support material out of the hole. Insert the handle into the hole using a light (rubber) hammer. !!WEAR EYE PROTECTION!! Happy printing! Print Settings Printer: M3D Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: Medium quality Infill: M3D set to Full (equals +-50% on other printers) Notes: The full infill option in the M3D software matches 50% infill on regular printers. The inside will be build up out of a square mesh. I used the Full option in the M3D menu with succes. Printed mine in PLA but ABS will probably work as well.
