Ok, here's an odd one. if you have a civilian model Ar15 rifle, commercial and military bayonets will not fit properly with the bayonet sitting on the flash hider. You can either buy an adaptor or try this. here is a set of extended grip scales to take up difference. the M7 bayonet tang will need the lug removed and tang extended. I did this by threading the end of the tang that goes into the barrel lug and screwing on an extension. I then welded it in place and ground it down to fit into the new scales. you will need new screws and blind nuts along with drilling an extra screw hole in the tang. seems like a lot of work but end result is worth it. (i feel, lol) Bear in mind this will take some fiddling with as far as hole diameter and the screw hole blind nuts, but hey if you made it this far you are up for the task!!! Feel free to modify the file for personal use and let me know your suggestions and improvements, but I retain all rights and do not allow it for sale or commercial use.
