Mac Book and iPad Holder

A Simple Holder that keeps the desk clean. It can hold a 13" Mac Book and any iPad. I have Made it big enough to hold them in there covers, it can hold the iPads in Otter box cases or most Leather covers. It has a base support structure that breaks off and then only a lite sand is required to provide a clean smooth finish. I added a cut out in the rear to hold a Apple TV remote. The front is cut out to allow access to the iPads home button and to avoid the standing putting pressure on the screen. It's simple and works and considering the ones available range from $69 - $190 a cheap alternative. Instructions Firstly lay the holder down so that the Rectangle base is flat on the Platte, I dont know why but when I save it From Solidworks it is flat but in Makerware it is always on it's side. Dont even bother unless you have a Glass Platten. I used painters tape on the platten and purchased a new Hardened Glass platten from Bilby CNC. Every second print would lift at the corners so i developed a system that worked without fail. 1. Sand platten with 1200 grit paper and blow dust off. 2. level Platten using a sheet of paper and allow the tip to run over the paper and then adjust your leveling screws so that the paper only has the slightest drag on it. 3. Load filament for 30 seconds to preheat nozzle and clear old material. 4. Coat Platten with Acetone and allow to dry. The most important step, I perform a print but stop it after the raft has been printed. I remove the raft and apply Selleys Quick Fix super glue to the corners of the model and to the 2 centre support strips. The glue takes about 10 mins to dry which allows the printer to get the raft down and the glue holds it in position. Since doing this I have not had one failed print. Only a thin layer is required and then start printing straight away. When printing use a raft as it will indicate if you have a good adhesion and it also helps with peeling. If you havent got the latest firmware get it as the rafts are greatly improved and extend outside the model to help with peeling. I have printed in .2mm and .1mm and had no issues. 2 shells and 10% fill and it will take about 6 hours. Peel of the platten slowly with a butter knife and break the supports off with pliers. Have fun and remember "The only way to predict the future is to make it!"
